Campbell Folk School, October 2009.

The class and me at the student exhibit, blocking most of our table from the photo! I know other people took photos and I hope to get some of them to post here.

Campbell Folk School, November 2008.

Wait, first, here's what I saw when I looked out the window on the first morning. The photos's all weirdly wavy because I took the photo through the window and screen. Still, you can get an idea of the beautiful sky and frosty field.

There's music and/or dancing nearly every evening. I think these are some sort of Morris dancers. Funky costumes, and each dancer had a thick stick (or two?) that they thumped on the floor and tossed to each other as part of the dance. Rowdy fun!

Okay, on to the class. It was a week-long class, and there were six students with a wide range of experience. Here's the selection of samples I brought; those at the top center are actual stones, but most are polymer clay.

Funny how tools and materials expand to fit the space available...

...until everyone's workspace has shrunk to about six inches square!

There's a student exhibition on the last day. It's a chance to check out what everyone else has been making in classes like broommaking, enameling, woodturning, blacksmithing, surface design, and (if we're lucky) one of the cooking classes.

My students were very prolific (this is only a portion of what each of them made), and there were numerous oohs and aahs from the other students when they cruised our table.
